Training For Private Security

If you run a private security company and/or are responsible for meeting the training requirements of your personnel you will be well aware of the difficulties that those working in the industry face, especially those who are customer facing and have to deal with members of the public, who may emotional and irate, and/or inebriated etc. Knowing how to contain an incident and prevent it from escalating in a way that could cause harm to others is an essential skill that those working in this aspect of the industry need to know and be able to perform. Knowing when and how to de-escalate volatile situations and when to enforce a rule, and/or set a boundary can often be difficult to judge, especially in a fast-moving and dynamic confrontation.

Head Instructor, Gershon Ben Keren, has been working in the security industry since 1990, and has spent much of that time working in customer facing positions e.g., working as door security both as a team member, and as a head doorman etc. During his time, he has experienced many different types of aggression and violence, and dealt with patrons who were drunk and/or drugged up etc. Over this time, coupled with his academic understanding, he has developed effective and proven solutions for dealing with aggressive clients, which he has used himself and taught to others. By understanding how emotionally volatile and/or confrontational individuals see the world, it is possible to “work with them” to create solutions that both adhere to rules and protocols, and which are acceptable and adopted by those being dealt with.
